At the heart of the Shelter Club is the commitment to provide a surplus of housing, food, and community time bank hours.
Members contribute volunteer
hours in the community and earn
time dollars.
The goal of this volunteer network is to offer cheaper, healthier, and sustainable alternatives, reducing
reliance on traditional market systems.
VTB.
VERMONT TIME BUCK.
The Vermont time buck is a flexible currency that equals $25 or one hour of volunteer work. Members accumulate hours by volunteering for various jobs, creating a pool of volunteer labor and sweat equity. These accumulated hours can be exchanged within the community for goods and services offered by the network.
Non-Members can also purchase VTB and exchange it for goods and service's in the community.
How the Organization Works:
VTSC members choose a job, volunteer , and get paid in VTB directly from the volunteer partner. Once VTB is in your wallet, you can exchange it peer to peer, sell it, buy it, donate or auction it.
VTB IS A FLEXIBLE CURRENCY...VTB is designed to-
-Reward volunteer work
-Build equity in the local community.
-Prevent artificial inflation/deflation
-Create Value for VTB holders and VTSC members.
-Build community trust.
-Increase community wealth.
Members will have access to affordable rental units, ranging from
tiny homes, single family homes and short term lodging.
Members who hold up to 25 vtb
will receive a 25% discount at VTSC co-op stores. VTB can also be applied to housing.
All maintenance and some construction work will be shared by members, fostering a sense of community responsibility and ownership.Blockchain Verification. The use of the Tezos blockchain technology ensures an immutable public record of all current members, providing transparency and trust. Members are issued cryptocurrency tokens for verification, and work hours
are recorded on the blockchain.
Technology impaired members. It's understandable to be hesitant
about technology and the evolving digital landscape. It can be frustrating to navigate and can cause anxiety. To keep it simple, members have the option to trade VTB hours in physical form!
wooden, engraved tokens will be issued as a physical trading option.
these tokens can also be braille encoded for blind members.
These wooden tokens will be distributed and eventually exchanged for digital tokens with the assistance of
our members.
The Tezos blockchain is one of the most secure, stable and affordable
networks that exist. By using this technology we hope to incorporate transparency and create a network with no single point of failure.
